Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a larger bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the butter mixture; mix until combined.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until a dough forms.
- Roll small portions of dough into balls, about 1 inch in size, and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Lightly flatten each dough ball and sprinkle with colored sprinkles if desired.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes then transfer to a wire rack.
- Dust with powdered sugar after cooling completely.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze individually wrapped cookies for up to three months.
