  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened At room temperature for better creaming
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
Toppings
  • Powdered sugar for dusting Adds a snowy effect
  • Colored sprinkles (optional) For decoration

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a larger bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the butter mixture; mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until a dough forms.
  6. Roll small portions of dough into balls, about 1 inch in size, and place on a lined baking sheet.
  7. Lightly flatten each dough ball and sprinkle with colored sprinkles if desired.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  2. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes then transfer to a wire rack.
  3. Dust with powdered sugar after cooling completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze individually wrapped cookies for up to three months.
