Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 8 oz noodles (either rice noodles or egg noodles)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional) For garnish
For the sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional) Adjust to taste
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch For coating the chicken

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red chili flakes (if using) to create the sauce.
  2. Toss the bite-sized chicken pieces in cornstarch until evenly coated.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add vegetable oil.
  2. Add the coated chicken pieces to the hot oil and cook for about 6-8 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken in the skillet and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to thicken and coat the chicken.
  4. In a separate pot, boil water and cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  5. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the chicken and sauce, tossing everything together until well coated.
Serving
  1. Garnish the dish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

For added flavor, marinate the chicken in soy sauce and honey for at least 30 minutes before cooking. Use fresh garlic and ginger for the best taste. Adjust the spiciness by modifying the red chili flakes.
