Ingredients
  

For the Filling
  • 1 sheet puff pastry Thawed
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped Fresh preferred
  • 1/4 cup artichokes, chopped Canned or fresh, drained well
  • 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1/8 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • to taste salt
  • to taste fresh cracked pepper
  • optional red pepper flakes For heat
  • 1 egg for egg wash

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Thaw the puff pastry at room temperature or in the fridge the night before.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine chopped spinach, artichokes, parmesan cheese, cream cheese, mayonnaise, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Assembly
  1. Cut the thawed puff pastry in half to create two rectangles.
  2. Spread the filling evenly over one half of the puff pastry.
  3. Place the other half of the pastry on top and cut into 6 equal strips.
  4. Twist each strip into swirls and tuck the ends under.
  5. Beat the egg and brush the tops of each swirl with the egg wash.
Baking
  1. Place swirls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
  3. Cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

These swirls can be served warm or at room temperature. Pair them with a creamy dip or marinara sauce for added flavor. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
