Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel candies, unwrapped
  • Sea salt for sprinkling

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the vanilla and eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips and caramel candies until evenly combined.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving some space between them.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
  2. While warm, sprinkle with sea salt.
  3. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Enjoy warm or at room temperature, and try serving with a cold glass of milk or a scoop of vanilla ice cream atop a warm cookie.
