Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the vanilla and eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and caramel candies until evenly combined.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving some space between them.
Baking
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
- While warm, sprinkle with sea salt.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
Enjoy warm or at room temperature, and try serving with a cold glass of milk or a scoop of vanilla ice cream atop a warm cookie.
