Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, red food coloring, and vanilla extract until well mixed.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until combined.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  7. Scoop tablespoons of dough and roll them into balls.
  8. Roll the balls in powdered sugar to coat.
  9. Place the rolled dough balls on a lined baking sheet, leaving space between them.
Baking
  1. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, keeping an eye on them to prevent overbaking.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them in a single layer, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag.
