Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, red food coloring, and vanilla extract until well mixed.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until combined.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- Scoop tablespoons of dough and roll them into balls.
- Roll the balls in powdered sugar to coat.
- Place the rolled dough balls on a lined baking sheet, leaving space between them.
Baking
- Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, keeping an eye on them to prevent overbaking.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them in a single layer, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag.
