Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

- In another bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract into the butter and sugar mixture.

Chilling and Shaping
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and roll each in powdered sugar until completely coated.
Baking
- Place the rolled cookie balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving enough space between each ball.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers still look soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
