  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Ensure it's melted and slightly cooled.
  • 2 large eggs At room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour Sifted.
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Sifted.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips For the brownie batter.
Ganache Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream For heating.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips For the ganache.
  • 1/4 cup crushed peppermint For topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
Mixing
  1. In a large bowl, mix the granulated sugar and melted butter until smooth.
  2. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, stirring well to combine.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  2. Bake for 20-25 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
Ganache Preparation
  1. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it simmers, then stir in the chocolate chips until smooth.
Finishing Touches
  1. Pour the ganache over the baked brownies and spread it evenly.
  2. Top with crushed peppermint.
  3. Allow the brownies to set before cutting into squares.

Notes
