  • 3 large large bananas or 4 small bananas
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large large eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x5 inch loaf pan by greasing it.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas with a fork or potato masher until soft and mushy.
  3. Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix until combined.
  4. Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
  5. Gently fold in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 60 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  2. Let the bread cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

To keep banana bread fresh, store it in plastic wrap or an airtight container. It can be frozen for up to 3 months. Ripe bananas give the best flavor. Do not overmix to ensure a light and fluffy texture. Experiment with mix-ins like nuts or chocolate chips.
