Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional) Can be added for extra flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices provolone cheese Or any cheese of your preference.
  • 4 hoagie rolls hoagie rolls Fresh rolls are recommended.
  • Olive oil, for cooking Use enough to coat the bottom of the skillet.

Method
 

Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and pour in a drizzle of olive oil.
  2. Add sliced onions and green bell peppers to the skillet. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until tender.
  3. Push cooked vegetables to one side of the skillet and add ground beef on the empty side. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well for about 2 minutes.
  5. Lower heat and place slices of provolone cheese over the mixture. Cover with a lid and let cheese melt for 2-3 minutes.
  6. While cheese is melting, slice hoagie rolls lengthwise for easy filling.
  7. Once cheese has melted, fill each hoagie roll with the beef and vegetable mixture.
  8. Serve hot, optionally toasting the rolls before filling.

Notes

For optimal serving, warm the rolls and pair with cold drinks. Fresh ingredients yield the best taste.
