Cookie Base Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Ensure the butter is at room temperature
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs Add one at a time, preferably at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Sifted for better texture
  • 1 cup cocoa powder Unsweetened
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Can use milk, dark, or a mix

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are set.
  3. Allow to cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a unique twist, consider adding nuts or different types of chocolate chips. Make sure to watch the baking time, as every oven heats differently.
