Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter to the mashed bananas until fully incorporated.
- Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the banana mixture and stir gently.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing just until combined.
- Pour the banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
Baking
- Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 50 to 60 minutes.
- Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center; it should come out clean or with a few crumbs.
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For serving, you can enjoy banana bread plain, or add butter, cream cheese, or nut butters. Toasting it adds a nice texture. Can be stored in plastic wrap or an airtight container, and frozen for up to three months.
