Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed) The riper the bananas, the sweeter the bread.

  • 3/4 cup sugar Can adjust based on preference.
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour You can substitute half with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  4. Stir in the melted butter to the mashed bananas until fully incorporated.
  5. Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.

Baking
  1. Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 50 to 60 minutes.
  2. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center; it should come out clean or with a few crumbs.
  3. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For serving, you can enjoy banana bread plain, or add butter, cream cheese, or nut butters. Toasting it adds a nice texture. Can be stored in plastic wrap or an airtight container, and frozen for up to three months.
