Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
Pizza Toppings
  • 1 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Your favorite toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, olives, etc.)

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir with a wooden spoon until a rough dough forms.
Knead the Dough
  1. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead it for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic. If the dough is sticky, sprinkle a little more flour on it while kneading.
Let the Dough Rise
  1. Place the kneaded dough in a bowl lightly greased with olive oil. Cover it with a clean towel or plastic wrap. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours, until it doubles in size.
Preheat the Oven
  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat as well.
Shape the Pizza
  1. After the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Roll it out on a floured surface into a round shape, about 14 inches wide. Place the rolled dough on a pizza stone or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Add Sauce and Toppings
  1. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top. Now, add any additional toppings you desire.
Bake the Pizza
  1. Place the pizza in the oven. Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
Cool and Slice
  1. Once done, carefully remove the pizza from the oven. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing it into wedges.

Notes
