Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 12 ounces Fresh cranberries Typically, one bag
  • 1 cup Sugar Adjust based on sweetness preference
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Orange juice Freshly squeezed is best
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium-sized saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar completely dissolves, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Add the fresh cranberries to the saucepan and stir gently. Bring to a boil, allowing cranberries to pop.
  3. Once boiling, reduce heat and let simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and cranberries burst.
  4. Stir in 1/2 cup of fresh orange juice and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, mixing well.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool in the saucepan for a few minutes. Transfer to a bowl and allow to cool at room temperature.
