Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is at room temperature.
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
For Rolling
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar For rolling the cookie balls.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, white sugar, and sugar until smooth (about 2 to 3 minutes).
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
Mixing
  1. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
  2. Using a tablespoon, roll rounded portions of the dough into balls and roll each ball in the granulated sugar.
Baking
  1. Place the cookie balls on an ungreased baking pan, leaving space between each cookie, and flatten them slightly with the bottom of a glass.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly golden but still soft.
  3. Allow cookies to cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

To store, keep cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to three months.
