Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with foil, allowing some foil to hang over the edges.
- Place a layer of Saltine crackers in the bottom of the pan, covering the entire base.
Making the Toffee Sauce
- In a saucepan, combine butter and dark brown sugar over medium heat, stirring until it starts to boil.
- Boil for 3 minutes while stirring constantly until it turns a beautiful caramel color.
- Pour the toffee sauce evenly over the Saltine crackers, ensuring they are well covered.
Baking
- Bake for 7 minutes, keeping an eye on it to prevent burning.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Let them sit for a few minutes to melt.
- Spread the melted chocolate evenly across the toffee layer.
- If desired, add optional toppings such as nuts or sprinkles.
Cooling
- Chill in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours until it fully sets.
- Once set, lift it out of the pan using the foil and break into pieces.

Notes
Store Christmas Crack in an airtight container for up to one week at room temperature or up to two weeks in the refrigerator. It can also be frozen for up to three months.
