Mousse Ingredients

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, cocoa powder, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, stirring well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the all-purpose flour and salt, stirring until just combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the brownie batter into the greased baking pan and smooth the top.
  2. Bake for 20-25 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
Mousse Preparation
  1. While the brownies are baking, melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler or microwave.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form and gradually add the powdered sugar.
  3. Gently fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream.
Assembly
  1. Once the brownies have cooled, spread the chocolate mousse evenly over the top.
  2. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
  3. Cut into squares and serve chilled.
