  • 1 cup unsalted butter Browned for added flavor
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed tightly
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Mix of semi-sweet or dark
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring continuously until browned and fragrant.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine browned butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add vanilla extract and eggs, mixing until well combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips and chocolate chunks.
  8. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  9. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
  2. Remove cookies and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days or freeze cookies for up to three months.
