  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure it's at room temperature.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Add one at a time.
Mix-Ins
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Use semi-sweet, dark, or milk chocolate based on preference.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each.
  2. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  3. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week, or freeze for up to three months. Consider chilling the dough before baking for enhanced flavor.
