  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Use room temperature eggs.
Dry Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Ensure even distribution.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Adjust if using salted butter.
Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Can use semi-sweet, milk, or dark.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs until well blended.
  4. In another bowl, stir together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving space between each.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes, until the edges are golden brown.
  3. Let cookies cool on the cookie sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For a chewy texture, avoid overmixing. You can chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for enhanced flavor.
