Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Add-ins
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and baking soda. Set aside.
  3. In a larger bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth and creamy.
  4. Beat in the pure vanilla extract and large eggs until well combined and fluffy.
  5. Gradually blend the flour mixture into the wet ingredients until smooth.
  6. Gently stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of the cookie dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving space between each to allow for spreading.
Baking
  1. Place the cookie sheets in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden brown.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on the cookie sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container to keep them fresh. For soft cookies, add a slice of bread to the container. Options for serving include with milk or ice cream.
