Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully mixed in before adding the next.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  8. Using a rounded tablespoon, drop dollops of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets with enough space between each.
Baking
  1. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, until the edges turn golden. The centers may look slightly soft.
  2. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to wire racks.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container to keep them soft. You can freeze cookies for up to three months if necessary.
