Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully mixed in before adding the next.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
- Using a rounded tablespoon, drop dollops of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets with enough space between each.
Baking
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, until the edges turn golden. The centers may look slightly soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to wire racks.
