Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, blend softened butter with granulated and brown sugars on medium speed until creamy.
- Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a small bowl, mix baking soda with warm water and add to the batter mixture.
- Gradually stir in baking powder and salt, followed by the all-purpose flour until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently using a spatula.
Baking
- Drop heaping 2 tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 12-13 minutes until cookies are golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
