  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Sifted
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • to taste flaky sea salt For topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter until it is completely liquid. Add the granulated sugar and mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Crack the eggs into the mixture one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Using a spoon or cookie scoop, scoop tablespoon-size portions of dough onto a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  7. Sprinkle a small pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each cookie.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the cookies have a crinkly top and are set but still soft in the center.
  2. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding nuts or chocolate chips. Store in an airtight container to keep them soft and chewy.
