Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, melt the butter until it is completely liquid. Add the granulated sugar and mix until smooth and creamy.
- Crack the eggs into the mixture one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Using a spoon or cookie scoop, scoop tablespoon-size portions of dough onto a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each.
- Sprinkle a small pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each cookie.
Baking
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the cookies have a crinkly top and are set but still soft in the center.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For added flavor, consider adding nuts or chocolate chips. Store in an airtight container to keep them soft and chewy.
