  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure the butter is at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Line your baking sheets with parchment paper. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the sheets with enough space between them.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
  2. Cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
