  • 1 container 20oz container of refrigerated or frozen cheese tortellini Fresh or frozen tortellini can be used.
  • 1 lb ground beef Alternative meats like turkey or chicken can be substituted.
  • 1 jar 24oz jar of pasta sauce
  • 8 oz cream cheese, cubed
Cheese Toppings
  • 1-2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Adjust cheese amount to preference.
  • 0.5 cup grated or shredded parmesan cheese
Seasoning
  • to taste seasoning (salt, garlic powder, black pepper, Italian seasoning) Spices can be adjusted according to preference.

Preparation
  1. Cook the tortellini according to package instructions until al dente, drain, and set aside.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, over medium heat, brown the ground beef, adding your seasonings as it cooks until thoroughly cooked.
  2. Drain excess grease, then stir in pasta sauce and cubed cream cheese. Simmer on low until the cream cheese melts.
Assembly
  1. Gently fold in the cooked tortellini with the meat sauce mixture and spoon into the greased baking dish.
  2. Top the casserole with shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan cheese.
Baking
  1. Bake uncovered for about 20 minutes, then switch to broil for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  2. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with garlic bread, salad, or steamed vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2-3 months.
