Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, combine the flour and baking soda. Stir them together with a whisk.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt together until creamy and smooth.
- Mix in the vanilla extract. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing at low speed until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts using a spatula.
Baking
- Use a cookie scoop or spoon to drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown around the edges.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Serving
- Serve warm or at room temperature, ideally with a glass of milk.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature butter. Consider chilling the dough for about 30 minutes before baking to help the cookies keep their shape.
