Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature Ensure butter is at room temperature for better mixing.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Use room temperature eggs.
Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Feel free to experiment with different types of chocolate.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this mixture aside.
  3. In a large bowl, use a mixer to cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture, and beat well until combined.
  5. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto an ungreased baking sheet, leaving enough space between each cookie.
  2. Bake for about 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
  3. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Serving
  1. Serve cookies warm with a glass of milk or as part of a dessert platter.

Notes

For best results, do not overmix after adding flour. You may chill the dough for 30 minutes for enhanced flavor.
