Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Pour the melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish, tilting to spread evenly.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Slowly pour the milk and vanilla extract into the dry ingredients, whisking until smooth.
- Carefully pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish without stirring.
- Evenly distribute the sliced bananas over the top of the batter.
- In a small bowl, mix the light brown sugar and cinnamon together, then sprinkle over the bananas and batter.
- Optionally, add chopped nuts or chocolate chips on top.
Baking
- Bake for 35 to 45 minutes until golden brown and bubbling. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
- Once done, let it cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
- Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce.
Notes
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months. Can add variations like berries, peanut butter, or pumpkin.
