  • 3 pieces ripe bananas Use overripe for the best flavor.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Helps the bread rise.
  • a pinch salt Enhances sweetness.
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds flavor.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Do not overmix.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Mix in the melted butter until combined.
  4. Add baking soda and salt, and mix in.
  5. Stir in sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  6. Gradually fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased 4x8 inch loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For variations, consider adding walnuts or chocolate chips. Store at room temperature for 1-2 days.
