  • 1 pound ground beef Lean ground beef is recommended.
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced Can use various mushroom types.
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour Used to thicken the sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional) Try different cheeses for flavor.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the sliced mushrooms, beef broth, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Simmer for a few minutes until mushrooms soften.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix flour with a pinch of salt. Gradually whisk it into the beef mixture until well combined.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbling and heated through.
  7. If using cheese, sprinkle it on top during the last 5 minutes of baking.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Garnish with fresh parsley or green onions for added color and flavor. Leftovers can be stored in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or frozen for 2-3 months.
