Ingredients
  

For the Beef Mixture
  • 1 lb Ground beef Opt for lean ground beef to reduce grease.
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 1 pack Brown gravy mix
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper Adjust to taste.
For the Topping
  • 4 cups Mashed potatoes Use homemade for best flavor, instant is a good alternative.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef on medium heat until browned for about 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic; stir and cook until the beef is browned.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and beef broth; mix in the brown gravy mix and cook until thickened for about 3 to 5 minutes.
Assembly
  1. Grease a baking dish with oil or butter and pour the beef mixture into it, spreading evenly.
  2. Spread the prepared mashed potatoes over the beef mixture, covering it entirely.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes until heated through and the top is golden.
  2. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days or freeze for up to three months. Allow to cool completely before freezing. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
