Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a loaf pan.
Mixing Ingredients
- In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
- In another bowl, combine the wet ingredients: melted butter, milk, and eggs and whisk until well mixed.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined, do not overmix.
- Fold in the chopped apples.
Baking
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar with a little cinnamon and sprinkle over the first half of the batter.
- Pour the remaining batter over the brown sugar layer.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
Icing and Serving
- While the bread is baking, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Drizzle the icing over the top and serve.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate for longer storage. Freezing is also an option.
